Gearing Up is the student work placement program for Canada’s mining sector. Wage subsidies up to $5,000 are available for structured work experience, co-op placements, internships, field placements or applied projects to help solve challenges for employers.

How many WIL placements does your organization plan to have total this year (across all sites)?

Your company’s eligibility for placements is determined using the net new baseline established during your initial application. The baseline represents the number of WIL positions your organization reported when first applying to the program. Only WIL positions that exceed this original baseline will be considered eligible for funding or placement approval.)
